GLADIATOR MENTALITY PROPELS BARE TO BRISTOL WIN

(BRISTOL, Tenn.) With a move that will go down in Bristol Motor Speedway lore, Tyler Bare valiantly scored his second Steel Block Bandits Dirt Late Model Challenge win on Tennessee soil by capturing the Bristol Dirt Showcase win last night at the Last Great Coliseum. The Rock Bridge Baths, Virginia native trapped race leader Austin Neely behind two lapped cars and maneuvered his way past all three en route to the win.

A usually subdued and quiet young man was visibly exhuberent in victory lane; “This means more to me than the $50,000 we won at Saluda last year simply because this is Bristol and the first Live Bandit race on TV.” said Bare. “I saw him (Neely) struggling with the lap car and I said we can’t wait forever, I knew it was time to go. Dad told me today that this wasn’t the place for any cowboy moves but I think it won us the biggest race of my career.” His father, Booper Bare who raced here 23 years ago, did give him some advice he utilized. “He told me to always drive off the right front especially here and these big tracks and tonight it worked great. You can’t relax at these races, I knew we had to go because those guys behind me had to be coming, you’re basically a sitting duck if you get out front and just ride.”

Once Bare did get the lead, he had to survive a couple final restarts but he wasn’t concerned: “I knew once I got to that clean air that I could check out, I just got out there and started soaking it all in because you never know if you’ll ever have this opportunity again. His day wasn’t at all easy leading up to the win; “We had to replace the transmission and felt like we were behind all day but this Rocket Chassis came in right at the perfect time tonight.”
